Who should attend RFID in the Healthcare Supply Chain and Cold Chain?
- Pharmaceutical and Biotech manufacturers
- RFID Vendors – wireless technology providers, middleware vendors
- Software/Solution Providers – across the medical spectrum
- Cold Chain Product and Service providers
- Transportation and Storage Service Providers
- Government, Policy and Trade Associations
Description
The healthcare industry provides an environment in which RFID can be used to gather better and timelier information – of value to manufacturers of key products and providers of healthcare services. The pharmaceutical industry, victim to counterfeiting, product diversion and other issues that challenge the credibility of their supply chain, has embraced RFID and related technologies, in order to manage and monitor the movement of products throughout the chain of custody.
The pharmaceutical and medical device supply chain includes many players, all of whom are responsible for maintaining a detailed record of each activity – enabling an electronic audit trail – or e-pedigree across the many activities that take place from product creation to consumption.
This workshop will explore in more detail how the combination of RFID and network technologies can be utilized to provide better management and control across the Manufacturing and Distribution Process, toinclude the following areas:
Agenda
- Review of the Principles of RFID
- Key Issues in the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain
- The use of RFID to manage “extreme” situations – including Cold Chain requirements
- Getting Started – things to consider
During this 90 minute workshop participants will obtain an understanding of the following:
